Phillie, a mini Mummer, is in honour of Phyllis Weir, Herbie’s and Marguerite’s daughter and operator of Herbie’s Olde Craft Shoppe. Mummers use outlandish costumes to disguise themselves so they appear to be all shapes and sizes. “There’s big ones ‘n’ small ones ‘n’ tall ones ‘n’ thin,” is a line from The Mummer’s Song (1983) by Simani.
